Norwin's boys finished right behind Franklin Regional in third place. The Knights and Panthers actually tied in overall points, but Franklin Regional was awarded second place because its sixth runner finished better than Norwin's.
Norwin finished in fourth place among girls teams, led by freshman Kelley Giles' second-place finish in 19:24. Giles was followed by senior Becca Peters, who finished 12th in 20:21; senior Stephanie Hutchinson, who finished 18th in 21:28; junior Becca Rohac, who finished 22nd in 21:43; and junior Camryn Grudowski, who finished 26th in 21:48.

More than four months of preparation ended with the Norwin girls cross country team's first section championship in four years.
Norwin (8-0) captured the Section 2-AAA cross country title after sweeping a tri-meet with Franklin Regional and Yough on Monday at Murrysville Community Park.

by Doug GulasyThe Norwin girls team captured the varsity title for the first time since 2010, beating out two-time defending champion Hempfield. The Knights won six straight championships at Boyce Park from 2005-10.
“Norwin girls have had a lot of success at that meet, so it's nice getting it back,” coach Brian Fleckenstein said.
