2017 WPIAL Championships

Congrats 2017 girls varsity participants in WPIAL Championships : Katie Plassio, Madison Pesi, Laurel Noe, Jessica Gibson, Caitlin + Courtney Kosanovic. The team finished in 14th overall in WPIAL.

Congrats to boys WPIAL participants: Alex Jubert, Nick Shavel, Harrison Barnett, Chris Hinson, Eli Olson, Jake Tarosky, & Carson Shipley. The boys finished in 8th place overall.

• Senior Carson Shipley was nominated for Pittsburgh Positive Athletes for 2017-18.

• Senior Jessica Gibson was selected as Norwin's "Athlete of Week" for September 3rd for her performance at "Red, White & Blue Invitational."
  •  She finished 2nd on team and ran over 2-minutes faster than last year.

The Norwin girls cross country team (3-1) looks ahead to moving up a notch.The Knights hope to crack the top 5 in the WPIAL Class AAA championship meet Oct. 26 after placing sixth the past two seasons....
The Knights boys team (3-1) has some new faces after placing 12th at the WPIAL championship last season...

The Norwin cross country teams are hitting their peak heading into the biggest race of the season.
Both teams finished in second place in Section 1-AAA and are coming off top-three finishes at the Westmoreland County Coaches Association championships Oct. 12 in Youngwood. They will look to roll that into strong races at the WPIAL meet Thursday
